Senegal search teams on Tuesday informed the Brazilian Air force and marine that has abandoned search operations for bodies or debris of the Air France 447 flight victims that crashed into the Atlantic on May 31, Folha reported.

On Tuesday the Brazilian military informed that only debris had been found in the ocean and that no body has been found for seven days, the last body found was on June 16, the report said.

The rescue teams have to date recovered 50 bodies and search operations are expected to continue.

The cause of the crash remains unknown; search teams have been combing an area with a radius of 50 miles in the hope of detecting signals from the crashed jet’s black boxes.

The Airbus A330 plane fell into the Atlantic after running into thunderstorms en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
