Fincher, who earned an Oscar nod for his period romance "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" earlier this year, is in advanced negotiations with Columbia Pictures over the possible movie called "The Social Network."

Cast searches are underway and a couple of young actors have already been suggested to play Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, a source told CNET news. Actors on that list includes both Michael Cera (”Superbad,” “Arrested Development”) and Shia LaBeouf (”Transformers”).

The script has been written by Aaron Sorkin, best known for television series "The West Wing" and movies including "Charlie Wilson's War" and "A Few Good Men."

Sorkin's script will be based off a new book called "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook" by Ben Mezrich. Zuckerberg is reportedly not pleased with the book as it portrays him in an unfavorable way and is said to have warned employees not to talk to anyone affiliated with the movie.
