Virgin Mobile Free Fest tickets up for grabs now

The remaining tickets not claimed for the Virgin Mobile Festival and tickets can now be found free at www.ticketmaster.com after starting at 10am this morning.

With a total of A total of 35,000 tickets are up for grabs at no charge, Virgin Fest is asking everyone who attends to make a $5 donation to their RE*generation charity to fight youth homelessness.

You can get your free ticket with an optional $5 per ticket delivery fee. You can avoid the delivery fee if you pick them up at Will Call at the Merriweather or 9:30 Club box offices between August 21-28.

“In a time of economic challenges and daily sacrifices, we wanted to throw a fantastic party so people could let loose and have a great time — on us,” Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, said in a statement. “Virgin Mobile FreeFest offers music fans a brilliant day of fun and music and a chance for them to give back to those even less fortunate.”

The Festival was previously held in Baltimore and is relocating to Columbia will star Blink-182, Franz Ferdinand, Girl Talk, the Hold Steady, Public Enemy, the National and Weezer on August 30 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Virgin Mobile customers and previous Virgin Mobile Festival ticket buyers were given priority to grab the free tickets on June 25 and June 26.
