Visits to hardware manufacturer sites grew 22 percent in May, with Apple Inc garnering the most visits with the launch of its iPhone 3G S.

Apple.com reached 55.7 million unique visitors in May doubling the runner up Hewlett-Packard which saw 21 million unique visitors, according to Nielsen on Tuesday.

Dell Inc recovers from its declining traffic with an 8 percent jump to 16.82 unique visitors, while Sun Microsystems took fourth place at 3.4 million unique visitors.
