Katie Holmes tonight on So You Think You can Dance

23 July 2009 @ 01:26 pm ET

Katie Holmes will perform a song-and-dance tribute to Judy Garland "Get Happy" from the musical "Summer Stock" tonight at the Fox TV network show "So You Think You Can Dance" at 10:00 p.m. EDT.

Holmes, who said to be "very excited" about the performance worked for the number with choreographer Tyce Diorio and show producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe who directed it.

The performance is expected to be a "fun," "spicy" Broadway number, according to Kherington Payne one of Season Four's top 10 dancers who has worked with Diorio, MTV reported today.

Diorio has previously said Holmes is "amazing" in the number and has described it as "intense" and "uplifting."

“The thing that is so awesome is that you won’t know, you don’t know what to expect … but then when you sit and watch it, it’s amazing," Diorio told E! Online weeks ago.

Holmes' appearance will introduce the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a charity founded by judge Nigel Lythgoe and co-founded by Holmes that will give dance scholarships to talented underprivileged youth.

Anybody who watched this so-called performance should be wondering how much money Tom & Friends donated to get Holmes this gig! It was dreadful; I was embarrassed for her. And the lip-synch was WAY out of synch!
Bad show... surprised Joe Luft didn't leave the theater!

It was awful!!! The lip-synching was way off - and it should have been called walking around instead of dancing! How embarrassing for the show and for her.

After all the fanfare -what a huge letdown. Even the interview was unconvincing. This attempt at self promotion may just backfire on beautiful Katie and Dizzy Feet. When your makeup looks better than your moves you've got to wonder.
