Under the ruling, Katherine Jackson, 79, will now be responsible for 12-year-old Prince Michael, 11-year-old Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, 7.

During the court session, Katherine Jackson was also granted her request for a monthly allowance from the singer's estate to help provide for his kids.

The amount of the payments was not specified, but Beckloff ruled Katherine was eligible to claim 84 percent of the money requested dating back to 25 June this year- when Michael Jackson died.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff gave his rulings despite an objection made by Michael Jackson's long-time dermatologist, Arnold Klein.

Although Klein's objections were not specific, his attorney said that he was concerned about the children's education and day-today parenting issues, reports the Associated Press.

Michael Jackson said in his will which was drafted in 2002 that he wanted his mom, Katherine, to be his children's guardian if anything had to happen to him.
