OriginOil, Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology that will change the way we produce oil. Through the use of algae, the world will now be able to manufacture clean oil, anytime and anywhere. This will all be done without the old method of drilling for oil. OriginOil, Inc.’s ability to provide oil through algae not only makes it environment-friendly, but will ensure that it is cost effective and never ending.
The processes in which algae oil is extracted is called the ‘milking’ process. Through this process the algae oil is not destroyed during the extraction, thus allowing for continuous extraction. Due to the tough cell walls of the algae, live extraction or milking can become a challenge, yet OriginOil, Inc. has met that challenge at bench scale and is now being scaled up to OriginOil’s intermediate 200-gallon tank size.
OriginOil, Inc. has assembled a management team that will ensure their success now and into the future. Riggs Eckelberry, President and CEO, is one of the inventors of the Company’s breakthrough technology. Riggs Eckelberry brings his veteran technology management skills to the alternative energy sector.
OriginOil, Inc. management team also includes Vikram Pattarkine, Ph.D as its Chief Technology Officer. Vikram M Pattarkine, OriginOil’s CTO, has a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years as a chemical-environmental engineer with expertise in processes related to waste treatment, nutrient management, water quality, and renewable energy. He has extensive international experience covering research, consulting, and training.
