Citigroup chairman joins Providence: source

NEW YORK - Richard Parsons, chairman of Citigroup , is joining private equity firm Providence Equity Partners as a senior adviser, a source familiar with the situation said on Wednesday.

Parsons, also the former chairman and chief executive of Time Warner , will continue as chairman of Citigroup, which will remain his primary business activity.

Citigroup was not immediately available for comment.
