Chevron says Richmond hydrotreater shut, under repair

HOUSTON - Chevron Corp said a gasoil hydrotreater at its 245,271 barrel-per-day San Francisco-area refinery in Richmond, California, was shut and being repaired on Friday following a Thursday night fire.

The fire was confined to a pump in the hydrotreater and quickly extinguished, said Chevron spokesman Brent Tippen. There was no time available for the unit's restart. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
