Heavy rains are falling in  two  areas... one over  central and eastern  SD... and the   other over  the  SE states. The Deep south saw   widespread heavy rains  and  eastern WY eastern MT   western ND western SD  and western  NEB saw moderate rains. The  SHORT TERM  forecast is unchanged.   In the  MEDIUM RANGE   forecast t  models   show front sweeping  through the    ECB and East Coast  but now develop a  wave of Low pressure on the front  over  MO  that bring  moderate   to heavy rains   on the 9th into early on the 10th  over the  ECB.  Meanwhile   the massive cold  High  drops out of  NW Canada.    The 6-10 day   still shows  the  major cold air  outbreak for  Mid Oct  is on track.   Upper Teens are possible over  MT and ND on the morning of the  9th 10th and 11th... with M and U   20s  covering the rest of the  Upper  Plains   into    eastern COL   NEB   MN and  northwest IA.    And these  forecast temps could  drop even further  as the models   begin to see the  actual cold air  in greater  detail.
