Mexico's Telint net surges 141 pct vs year ago

MEXICO CITY - Latin American telecommunications operator Telmex Internacional posted a 141 percent rise in third-quarter net profit on Tuesday, far more than analysts had expected.

Telmex Internacional, known as Telint , said its net profit in the quarter was 2.791 billion pesos ($206.7 million).

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected Telint's earnings to rise 44 percent on average.

($1= 13.5035 pesos at end-Sept)
