Wall Street posts big gains; Dollar steady waiting for NFP

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - U.S. markets soar on Thursday. The Dow Jones finished above 10,000 for the first time since late October. The Nasdaq jumped 2.40% and the S&P 500 rose 1.92%. Dollar is steady across the board moving in narrow ranges with mix results for the day. Gold ended at $1,090 and crude oil pulled to levels below $80 a barrel.

The ecPulse.com analysis team affirms: "The U.S stocks closed in a green zone as today's US data showed that the labor market has enhanced slightly, having the Initial Jobless Claims plummeted to 512 thousand and the continuing claims dropped to 5749 thousand, whereas Cisco Systems Inc. attested that its sales rebounded as a result of an improved global economical recovery."

EUR/USD is moving around 1.4855 and 1.4880, at the same price it had at the beginning of the day. GBP/USD holds below 1.6600 after being unable to consolidate above the mention levels. USD/CHF is moving in a range between 1.0125 and 1.0290. The Yen lost early gains across the board and currently trades near the opening price. USD/JPY is steady above 90.60 after being rejected from levels below 90.00. Currencies tied to commodities ended mix but showed no big changes.
