An army psychiatrist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, on Tuesday night went on a shooting spree at the Fort Hood army post in Texas killing 13 people and leaving 30 wounded.

Lt Gen. Robert Cone said that unconfirmed reports say the gunman shouted, "Allahu Akbar" which in Arabic means "God is Great" before the rampage.
