The Federal Aviation Authority has confirmed that a computer glitch that caused many flight delays and cancellations across the U.S. Thursday morning has been fixed.

The problem affected the computer system's ability to provide information on flight data plans. The glitch lasted 5 hours and was fixed at 10am EST.

According to FAA spokesperson, Paul Takemoto, the problem was rather an efficiency problem rather than a safety one, CNN reported.
