Alexandra Kerry, 36, the daughter of Sen. John Kerry, was arrested early Thursday in Hollywood for driving under the influence of alcohol, the Associated Press reports.

Alexandra Forber Kerry is the older of the senator's two daughters. She was stopped by police for a traffic violation about 12:40 a.m. 

Kerry bailed out on $5,000 and was released at 5:25 a.m., a Los Angeles police spokesperson said, according to Reuters.

Kerry is a film producer and director. She cause buzz when in 2004 she walked down the red carpet wearing a see-through gown at the Cannes film festival.
