NEW YORK - Valero Energy Corporation has shut a hydrodesulferization unit at its 340,000-barrel-per-day Corpus Christi refinery in Texas due to bad weather conditions, the company said in a filing with state regulators on Friday.

"Inclement weather caused the loss of pumps which resulted in venting to the flare while bringing the HDS unit down," the filing with Texas Commission for Environmental Quality said. (Reporting by Rebekah Kebede; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
