The proposed plant, which will be about 320,000 square feet, will supply wind energy turbines to renewable energy projects throughout North and South America.

While American Nevada Group will identify potential sites for the facility and will develop the facility for the group, A-Power intends to arrange financing for site acquisition, construction and operation of the facility from its own funds, a statement issued by the U.S. Renewable Energy Group said.

The facility is expected to employ about 1000 Nevada workers and create even more jobs during the construction process, the statement said.

Shares of A-Power were up 5 percent at $12.67 in pre-market trade. They closed at $12.02 Wednesday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Arundhati Ramanathan in Bangalore; Editing by Bijoy Koyitty)
