With the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks coming up on Sunday, countless events across the country will be held to remember those who were lost and to commemorate the service of those who serve in the military, law enforcement or the fire departments. Compiled is a very small list of events taking place throughout the week.
Tuesday, Sept. 6
9 a.m.-8 p.m. Queen's College Art Center: Michael Ragsdale 9-11 (New York City)
This event will feature an exhibition of items gathered by Michael Ragsdale days after the 9/11 attack. The exhibit will be on display until Friday, Oct. 14.

5 p.m.-7 p.m. Tribute to World Trade Center Visitor Center: Open House (New York City)
On Tuesday, the World Trade Center's Visitors Center will be open for free for residents of Lower Manhattan. Exhibits will include recollections of the World Trade Center prior to 9/11, experiences of those who went through the day at the site, and how people's feelings have changed over the last 10 years.
Friday, Sept. 9
12 p.m. Ribbons of Hope (New York City)
To honor the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Ribbons of Hope will install 12 mesh panels alongside the Gardens of Rememberance in Battery Park through Sept. 12. New Yorkers and visitors alike are welcome to bring a ribbon and tie it to the panels assisting in the creation of the chain. For those unable to make it to the event, a virtual ribbon of hope will be installed as well.
