For affirmation of the old saying that the truth is stranger than fiction, compare Nicolas Cage's role in the upcoming film Trespass, in which strangers break into his affluent home, and his real-life experience dealing with a very bizarre intruder.

While promoting Trespass alongside director Joel Schumacher at the Toronto Film Festival, Cage related an experience with a break in that he referred to as horrifying but that would be better described as astounding, or hilarious.

It was two in the morning, Cage told the audience. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed.

Cage managed to convince the man to leave, and said it was later revealed that the intruder had mental health problems. Still, the actor of Adaptation and The Rock fame said he had to move out of the house after the traumatizing experience.

In Trespass, Cage and his wife, played by Nicole Kidman, are held for ransome after thieves break into their mansion. Schumacher called the film a class warfare movie centering on the clash between the affluent couple and the desperate thieves.
