Amy Winehouse Knew Alcohol Addiction Would Cause Her Death: Tony Bennett [PHOTOS]
Tony Bennett has told Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show" that his Duets partner Amy Winehouse knew her alcohol addiction would cause her death, according to Reuters.
Winehouse recorded with Bennett earlier this year for record-breaking number-one album Duets II.
Bennett recorded "Body and Soul" with Winehouse and said during their Abbey Road studio session last March, Winehouse was troubled by her alcohol addiction and she knew she wasn't going to live much longer, according to Reuters.
"She was in trouble at that time," Bennett said. "What people didn't realize at that time, she really knew, and in fact I didn't really know it when we were making the record ... She knew she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn't gonna' live. And it wasn't drugs. It was alcohol."
Winehouse died in her Camden home in London on July 23. Bennett said she was a great singer.
