Dear Steve Jobs,
You died too young -- at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer -- but in your time, you made a big dent at Apple, and in our lives.
You created as co-founder and later in two stints as CEO a company that has become a global lifestyle, both through its brand image and products -- from the Mac computer to the iPod to the iPad and, of course, the iPhone.
On Tuesday Apple unveiled a new iPhone -- the "global" iPhone 4S. It is priced to meet mass demand, with voice features at one time unimaginable. Something tells me in the yours to come many users will be asking Apple's voice "Assistant" one question: Who was Steve Jobs?
And that pretty much sums it all up, though the answer won't be easy.

"Steve Jobs was a visionary," Assistant might say. "Steve Jobs made a big dent in the world. Steve Jobs was the greatest tech CEO ever."
But there will be so much more. The unprecedented innovation, the long-term vision. Why, the iPad, now the world's most popular tablet, was in your hands for years before you let Apple release it. You understood that consumers weren't ready for the tablet yet -- that the iPhone should come first.
Jobs was an incredibly peaceful human as an individual, but an incredibly powerful force in business, and innovation through Apple. He "Redefined the Digital Age," says The New York Times. He "changed computing" says The Telegraph.
We don't get to pick and choose our time on this Earth, like we get to pick and choose when we want an iPhone or an iPad, or when, in the case of Apple, we want to have highly-anticipated the iPhone 5 release date. Or the iPad 3 release date.
We just all have to hope and try to make a dent in the world big or small, best we can, in the time we have.
In that regard, you have moved mountains. And though you've were feted, roasted and toasted effectively by the company, friends and many respectful journalists in your day -- I also understand you at times were the hardest on yourself.
So here's delivery of that message one more time.
They say the world has flattened in the 21st century, and it's safe to say the iPhone -- the world's most popular smartphone -- has helped make that happen. They want it in China. They want it in the U.S. They want it in India. They want it in the U.K. They want it just about everywhere.
They just want it, period. In fact, no consumer product has ever been so wanted around the world. And though we speak many languages on this globe, from the one place to the next, the truth is that more people speak those different languages into an Apple iPhone than any other smartphone.
