Photos: American Horror Story: Meet the Cast [PHOTOS]

Yahoo! TV has already dubbed FX's horror/drama "American Horror Story" as "hands down the best new show of the fall."

However, not everyone thinks so.

The show has received mixed reactions from critics: some say it has the potential to be fun, while others say it's a mess. However, what hasn't received mixed reactions is the cast. Dylan McDermott ("The Practice") and Connie Britton ("Friday Night Lights") star as estranged husband and wife Ben and Vivien Harmon, who bring inner demons of their own into the house the move into (her miscarriage, his infidelity). The supporting cast is Taissa Farmiga as Violet, the Harmons' sullen teen daughter, Evan Peters as Tate, a troubled teen with violent tendencies and Oscar winner Jessica Lange as the nosy neighbor, Constance.

There's sex, blood, and violence...What more could you ask for?

Dylan McDermott - Ben Harmon

Mark Anthony McDermott, better known by his professional name of Dylan McDermott, made his claim to fame as Al D'Andrea, Clint Eastwood's Secret Service partner in the 1993 thriller film "In the Line of Fire." He's best known for his role as lawyer and law firm head Bobby Donnell on the television legal drama "The Practice" and his role in the series "Dark Blue" as Lt. Carter Shaw.

Conne Britton - Vivien Harmon

Connie Britton made her claim to fame after the 1995 comedy-drama film "The Brothers McMullen" as one of the McMullen brothers' wife. She's best known for her roles as Nikki Faber on "Spin City" and Tami Taylor on "Friday Night Lights."

Taissa Farmiga - Violet Harmon

Taissa Farmiga starred as the younger version of her sister Vera Farmiga in the 2011 drama film "Higher Ground." as a girl named Corinne who questions her religious beliefs throughout.

Jessica Lange - Constance

Jessica Lange made her claim to fame in 1976 when she was cast in the motion picture remake of "King Kong." Other notable films she starred in include "Tootsie" (1982), "Sweet Dreams" (1985) and "Blue Sky" (1994). She is also known as Blanche DuBois from the 1995 television drama film "A Streetcar Named Desire."

Evan Peters - Tate Langdon

Evan Peters made his claim to fame in the 2004 film "Clipping Adam" as Adam Sheppard. He is best known for his roles as Jesse Varon in the ABC television series "Invasion" and as Cooper Day in the ABC television series "The Days."
