One week after Apple introduced its new iPhone 4S to stores in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Australia and the UK, the company has made pre-orders available in 22 more countries.

Apple has posted iPhone 4S pre-order pages for Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Apple will begin to fill these pre-orders on Oct. 28. Customers who want to order the phone online should expect one to two weeks for delivery, as they did in the U.S. and the other countries in Apple's first-tier release.

In addition to the 22 countries listed above, Apple also plans to sell the iPhone 4S in more than 70 more countries by the end of the year.

The iPhone 4S features completely new hardware, including a dual-core A5 processor, alternating antennae for maximum reception, an 8-megapixel camera that shoots videos in full 1080p HD, a larger 64 GB capacity option and support for CDMA users and GMS global roaming. The phone also comes pre-loaded with iOS 5, iCloud and Siri, an intelligent personal assistant that can help its user create and send texts and e-mails, place phone calls, set alarms and reminders, schedule meetings, surf the Web and even answer complicated, context-sensitive questions.

The iPhone 4S is available on AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and regional carrier C Spire Wireless networks.

Apple sold more than four million iPhone 4S units in its first weekend of release.
