Looks like funnies over at SNL aren't the only ones (along with the rest of the world) making jokes about Kim Kardashian and her marriage mishap. George Takei made a "Star Trek"-inspired parody when he uploaded a photo of the Kardashian sisters as if they were Cardassians.
The photo, "Keeping Up with the Cardassians," features Kim, Kourtney and Khloe as the Star Trek extraterrestrial serpentines, the Cardassians, complete with forehead ridges and spoon marks straight from the Alpha Quadrant planet Cardassia Prime.
The 74-year-old actor, who played Hikaru Sulu in the original "Star Trek" series, received the photo from a fan and posted it with a note which read, "From a fan. Now THIS I would watch!"
The joke of the similarities of the Kardashians with the Cardassians is not a new joke. A web series entitled "Keeping Up With the Cardassians" has been on air since Sept. 2010 based out of Las Vegas and the photo has appeared on t-shirts for the Web site, TShirt Bordello.
The comparison is not only humorous for the soundalike names "Cardassian" and "Kardashian," but is an analogy for their behaviors. Cardassians in the "Star Trek" series typically are cunning predators that seek domination and frequently snap at their family, for which they hold great importance.

According to StarTrek.com, "Similar to Humans, Cardassians celebrate birthdays, respect marriage, and use a given name before the family name."
Looks like the "respect marriage" clause doesn't apply here...
Takei would agree, as he also believes Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorced against Kris Humphries only 72 days into marriage, does not respect holy matrimony.
"Kim Kardashian files for divorce after 72 days. Another example of how same-sex marriage is destroying the sanctity of the very institution," he tweeted on Oct. 31 to his 234,000 Twitter followers.
Takei, who married his partner Brad Altman in 2008, frequently makes jokes about hot topics in the media and pop culture on his social media Web sites.
On Saturday, he took a jab at Herman Cain, whose name is plastered on media reports as more and more women come forward with alleged sexual harassment charges.
"With third female accuser coming forward, Herman Cain's campaign announced his 9-1-1 plan," Takei tweeted.
Most recently, Takei appeared in "Larry Crowne" as an economics professor and the grandfather in the television series, "Supah Ninjas."
Kim Kardashian said she is keeping her nose out of the media (for once), opting to ignore the three ring circus of reports she has caused.
"I am trying not to read all the different media reports but it's hard not to see all the negative ones," she wrote on her Web site after the divorce announcement.
It's O.K., I doubt she'd get this gag anyway....
