Japan's Sanyo Electric to supply largest solar power plant in Italy

Japan's Sanyo Electric Co. said Wednesday that it will supply its solar batteries to a largest solar power plant, using the type of solar panels, to be constructed in Italy.

The project will be carried on by a consortium led by Deutsche Bank AG. For a long-term investment effect, the consortium chose Sanyo's HIT solar panel, which prides numerousness of the electric-generating capacity per installation area, the company said in a statement.

The HIT solar cell consists of 32,202 solar panel modules, and can generate around 7.6 megawatts of electricity.

The plant will be built completely in September.
