With her tour just about to end and rumors circulating about a questionable baby bump, reports indicate Katy Perry will take time off from her career to start a family.

A source told the New York Post that 27-year-old Perry is taking a year off to "work on her family" with husband Russell Brand. Perry reportedly told her managers she will take the hiatus following the final date of her 122-show "California Dreams" tour this week.

News of the "family hiatus" comes just days after multiple performances, for MTV's European Music Awards on Nov. 6 and at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, where Perry sported a little bump in her bloated belly.

Rumors immediately began to circulate after both appearances, which Perry squashed all rumors. On Nov. 11, Perry denied reports of her pregnancy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"I would love to have children. I think that's one of the reasons you get married," Perry told Ellen. "Especially to the person that you marry. You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent. But, I'm not sure it's time yet. We'll see, ya know?"

Just two weeks later, Perry had another potbelly moment during her Madison Square Garden performance, which she told fans was caused by eating too much "New York City pizza."

Back in October, however, Perry said kids were in the future for her and Brand, but not anytime soon.

"Not yet," Katy told InStyle in October about plans to have children. "I think if you're married, it's often in your future."

While many of us jump right to pregnancy rumors, Perry could be using the time to rekindle with 36-year-old Brand. Other rumors circulate that the couple is having marital problems, after Perry was seen performing on the "X-Factor" not wearing her wedding ring.

However, the couple seems to have a working system in place after only one year of marriage: They limit the amount of time not spent together.

"We are separated a lot but we don't ever go more than two weeks without seeing each other. We've got that little rule sorted," Brand told InStyle in October.

"Anything longer than that is not fun," Perry added.
