Novo7, a 7-inch Ice Cream Sandwich equipped tablet available only in China, is reportedly set for release in the U.S. in the upcoming months. The Ice Cream Sandwich equipped tablet could be a major game-changer with an expected listing price of only $99.

Unlike the Kindle Fire, which recently shook up the tablet market, the Novo7 comes fully equipped and does not skimp on much-desired tablet features lacking in the Fire. The Novo7 has impressive specs, with a MIPS XBurst 1GHz CPU, front and rear cameras, 3D capability, 1080p video decoding and an HDMI port. The Novo 7 also claims to have up to 8 hours of battery life while watching video, 25 hours for music, 7 hours for browsing websites and 300 hours for standby.

The Novo7 also has a capacitive multi-touch screen and is equipped with the latest Android operating system, unlike many other tablets that are only offered with older models of Android's OS.

The hot new tablet is currently sold in China from Ainol Electronics, but is expected to be offered by Leader International and OMG Electronics in the US, according to PC World.

The fact that Google has supported the Novo7 proves the serious competitiveness of the item.

I'm thrilled to see the entrance of MIPS-Based Android 4.0 tablets into the market, Google's Android head, Andy Rubin, said in a statement reported PCWorld. Low-cost, high-performance tablets are a big win for mobile consumers and a strong illustration of how Android's openness drives innovation and competition for the benefit of consumers around the world.

PCWorld also claims American consumers can purchase the Novo7 from websites stationed in Asia today, however the shipping cost would be at least $50. However, the Novo 7 is predominantly sold out at most retailers.
