Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi on Friday said that implementation of rural development programmes can end the left-wing extremism issue.
She urged both Central and state governments to implement the rural development programmes.
"The implementation of rural development programmes can only defeat problems like left-wing extremism and insurgency," Gandhi said while addressing an All India Mahila Congress function.
"If we are able to do it then we will be able to bring those people who are following the path of violence to the democratic mainstream," Gandhi said.
She said that the Congress party workers should educate the tribal people about the development and welfare programmes undertaken by the government.
