State police and the FBI continue searching for missing 20-month-old Ayla Reynolds who vanished from her bed Friday night in Waterville, Maine.

She was put to bed Friday night at her father's house around 8 p.m. in polka dot pajamas and a soft cast on her left arm from breaking it three weeks ago.

Her father, Justin DiPietro, reported her missing Saturday morning according to The Morning Sentinel.

We've got detectives out there; we called in the Warden Service, state police and the FBI, Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey said at a news conference on Sunday. Again, the goal is to find Ayla; to do that, I want to make sure that I utilize every possible resource that I can to find the child and get her back safely.

The Sentinel reported that the police have not commented on the condition of the home, or if there are any signs of forced entry.

The authorities have questioned everyone at DiPietro's house at the time of the disappearance and the child's mother and everyone cooperated fully according to New York Daily News.

Reynold's parents are not together. She had been living with her mother, Trista Reynolds, until October, when Maine's Department of Health and Human Services removed her from her care according to The Kennebec Journal.

This is the worst thing of all, Ayla's grandmother, Hanson Reynolds, told The Kennebec Journal. I'm hoping that they call us soon and say they found her.

Her grandfather, Ronald Reynolds, told New York Daily News, It's just so hard for me to sit back and not do anything... I'm crawling out of my skin right now. She's the apple of my eye.

The police did not issue an Amber Alter Saturday, but an automated telephone calling system was used that called everyone within a square mile to alert people about the missing child according to The Morning Sentinel.

We did not utilize the Amber Alert system; this case did not fit that criteria, Massey said. Some of the criteria is that you have to have a suspect and you have to have a vehicle. In this particular case, we had none of that.
