Elizabeth Taylor's pricey baubles and couture gowns weren't the only items to fetch a high price at auction.
The late actress' script for the film "National Velvet," which launched the then-preteen actress to fame, sold for $170,500 on Friday, according to the auction house Christie's Web site. The script was expected to sell for $2,000 to $3,000.

The hardcover script is a lilac color with gold edging and lettering. The date on the cover reads January 14, 1944 and has Taylor's name on it. The book is also "bound together with 12 black and white film stills from the set," according to the Christie's Web site.
This wasn't the only script belonging to the late actress that fetched a high price at The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor auction.
Her script for the film adaptation of Tennessee Williams' play "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," in which she played the wife of Paul Newman's alcoholic character, sold for $104,500. It was expected to fetch between $3,000 and $5,000.

The auction has proved to be a tremendous success, with Taylor's clothing, jewelry, and other possessions selling for record prices.
Even some of her more unusual outfits sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A Versace evening jacket called "The Face," which has artsy beaded pictures of the late actress, was estimated to sell from between $15,000 to $20,000.
It sold last week for $128,500.
