Elizabeth "Libbie" Ainsworth, a sophomore from Auburn University, has died from injuries sustained in a car accident, according to WLTZ.com.

Ainsworth was 20-years-old and hails from Coppell, Texas, according to Oanow.com. She was majoring in interior design and wanted to be an interior designer upon graduation in 2014. She belonged to the Phi Mu sorority and was dating Drew Cole, a defensive back on Auburn University's football team.

Ainsworth's accident occurred on Sunday. She was subsequently airlifted to a hospital to be treated for brain injuries sustained from the accident, reported WLTZ.com. On Tuesday afternoon, hospital officials announced that she died.

Ainsworth was traveling with her boyfriend Cole in a truck Sunday night. The two were returning from a hunting trip.

According to Alabama State Trooper Sergeant Gary McWaters, the two Auburn students were trying to type an address to a sports store in their truck's GPS when Cole, the driver, lost control of the truck, reported WLTZ.com.

The vehicle "left the roadway, swerved...flipped over" and ejected Ainsworth from the passenger seat. Cole himself survived the accident and was released from the hospital on Sunday.

Phillip Marshall of Auburn Undercover called the accident an "unspeakable tragedy."

"I hope Libbie's family, Drew and all those close to her can find comfort in the difficult days to come," wrote Marshall.

"Our prayers go out to the family of Auburn student, Libbie Ainsworth, may she rest in the arms of angels tonight," wrote Toomer's for Tuscaloosa, a non-profit organization, on its Facebook page.

"Prayers. Lift the entire student body!" wrote Megan Wood Mitchell on Toomer's for Tuscaloosa's Facebook page.

"Praying for all that are being affected by this tragedy. And that Deuce will be found safe and sound," wrote Janet Johnston.

According to members of the Auburn community, Deuce is Cole's dog, who was riding in the car with the young couple and went missing after the accident.
