Technology giant Apple has threatened to take legal action against In Icons, a Chinese company which has manufactured a Steve Jobs action figure in the memory of the creative genius, who had established the most valuable technology company in the world.

The Steve Jobs action figures, named iCEOmini, are very realistic and detailed - they are 12-inch high, or approx. one-sixth the height of the real Jobs and wear the blue jeans, sneakers and black turtleneck sweater that Jobs has come to be associated with. More interestingly, the action figures even wear a wedding ring on its finger. No wonder, Apple's fans are loving it.

In Icons reportedly plans to release the action figures for $99 in February. However, instead of being flattered, Apple is seeing red and says it infringes its patent right. The company has also sent a letter to stop In Icons' wishful thinking, The Telegraph reported.

According to the newspaper, in the letter, Apple said that any toy that resembles the technology company’s logo, person’s name, appearance or likeness of its products is a criminal offence.

Nevertheless, eBay has already sold the iCEOmini for $135 each - the action figure comes with a pair of black socks, a pair of glasses, a leather belt, two apples (one with a bite taken out of it), a bar stool and a One More Thing backdrop.

In Icon isn't the first company to receive the legal threat from Apple for the Steve Jobs action figure. As early as November 2010, M.I.C. Gadget also made some action figures of Apple's ex-CEO. However, it had to comply with Apple's requirement and pulled the product from the market.

It seems that the iCEOmini will also face the same fate. So if you happen to own one, you should hold onto it as the lovable action figure might become a collector's item soon.
