A California teen has called for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies because the organization admitted a 7-year-old child to a Colorado troop last year.

It is now Girl Scouts Cookie season and the organization recently released a new flavor, Savannah Smiles, for its 100th anniversary in 2012.

In an almost eight minute-long video, the teen who has been identified as Taylor, 14, claims that Right now, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public.

She said that last year, Girl Scouts admitted to allowing transgendered boys from kindergarten to 12th grade as members.

Girl Scouts describes itself as an all-girl experience, the teen said in the video. With that label, families trust that the girls will be in an environment that is not only nurturing and sensitive to girls' needs, but also safe for girls.

Baptist Press reported last December that Girl Scouts USA revealed that sometimes it its local chapters do induct boys who try to live as girls. The revelation caused three troops at a Christian school in Louisiana to disband because of disappointment.

People began learning that transgendered children were being inducted into Girl Scouts the month prior when a Denver mother tried to gain entry for her son, a biological 7-year-old male, into the Girl Scouts, Baptist Press reported. The child is seeking to live as a little girl and initially turned away, but the mother called a press conference in protest.

It was then the Colorado chapter revealed that it does have a practice of inclusion, but that it evaluates the admission of boys on a case-by-case basis.

The Colorado Chapter issued a statement then noting, We accept all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade as members. If a child identifies as a girl and the child's family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout.

It also noted that requests for support of transgender kids have grown.

Rachelle Trujillo, vice president for communications of the Colorado Girl Scouts, told the Baptist Press that the national organization is saying that councils can make these decisions on a case-by-case basis.

If a child is living as a girl that's good enough for us, she said. We don't require any proof of gender. It's absolutely a case-by-case basis. There's not any rational fear of Girl Scouts being overrun by boys.

Trujillo also admitted that transgendered children are currently serving in Girl Scout troops in the U.S. but didn't give details.

The teen in the video stated that it is most disturbing for her and her family that the organization admitted to have already placed transgender boys throughout America without letting everyone know.

According to The Washington Post the video was released by a Houston-based group consisting of Girl Scout volunteers called the Honest Girl Scouts.

Michelle Tompkins, a national Girl Scouts spokeswoman, e-mailed the Washington Post on Wednesday, stating that the organization prided itself on being an inclusive organization serving girls from all walks of life

We handle cases involving transgender children on a case by case basis with a focus on ensuring the welfare and best interests of the child in question and the other girls in the troop as our highest priority, she said, adding that the proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay in the local market and are used to fund programs for girls.

Cookie sales raise funds for the Girl Scouts programs and activities.
