The first royal wedding of 2012 took place on Thursday, with Jordan's Prince Hamzah Bin al Hussein marrying his new bride, Princess Basma.

The groom wore military garb while his bride, a pilot at the Royal Aero Sports Club of Jordan, looked demure in pale pink, according to Examiner.com.

Also present at the ceremony were Jordan's King Abdullah, his wife, Queen Rania, the groom's mother, Queen Noor, the bride's father, Mahmoud Hassan Bani Ahmad Otoum, and other members of both families, according to the prince's Web site.

The ceremony was followed by a lunch banquet at Basman Palace, according to the prince's Web site.

Queen Rania, a social media pro who has her own YouTube channel, expressed her excitement for the happy couple via Twitter.

"Just attended wedding ceremony of Prince Hamzeh. Wishing the lovely couple a lifetime of love & happiness," she wrote.

Queen Noor also took to Twitter and thanked well-wishers.

"Just ending a day of love & great promise for a very special couple & [sic] our families," she wrote.

This is the prince's second marriage. He was previously married to his second cousin, Princess Noor bint Asem. They have a daughter.

Here are photos from the ceremony.
