Euro zone CPI retreates to 2.7%

Euro zone CPI for the year ended December retreated to 2.7% compared with the prior reading and expectations of 3.0% and 2.8% respectively. On the monthly basis, the reading rose to 0.3% from November's reading of 0.1%, yet below estimations of 0.4%. The annual core gauge lingered at 1.6%, in line with median estimates.
