UPDATE: iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak: Corona A5 Jailbreak for iPhone 4S, iPad 2 'Ready to Pop'

On the eve of its second anniversary, Sn0wbreez has been updated to version 2.9 by the Canadian hacker iH8sn0w. The new version allows users to perform an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 3G/4, iPod Touch 3G/4G and iPad 1 running iOS 5.0.1.

The latest version of the popular Windows-only jailbreak utility also allows users to remove the OTA base from Settings.app. It also incorporates key UI improvements. Of course, iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are still not supported since there's no available iBoot exploit yet.

Sn0wbreeze 2.9 comes with a number of new features, such as support for older firmware (down to iOS 3.1.3) and an IPSW downloader among others.

Here is a list of supported iOS revisions:

- iOS 3.1.3

- iOS 3.2.x

- iOS 4.0.x

- iOS 4.1

- iOS 4.2.1 - 4.2.8

- iOS 4.3 - 4.3.3

- iOS 5.0.1

- iOS 4.3.4/4.3.5/4.4.x/5.0 support coming soon

Below is a full list of the changes in Sn0wbreeze 2.9, as iH8sn0w noted in his blog.
