With the much-awaited release of Absinthe untethered jailbreak for A5-powered Apple devices, millions of users are busy jailbreaking the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

However, while performing the untethered jailbreak on their devices, most users are reportedly facing serious issues with the Greenpois0n Absinthe tool.

Users must note that the Chronic Dev Team has released a new build of the Absinthe jailbreak that will point the web clip to greenpois0n.com instead of the absinthe dedicated page.

Users should ensure that they use the latest version of Absinthe, that is the Absinthe 0.1.2-2 (Mac). Downloading Absinthe 0.1.2-2 will fix most of the common errors. For a detailed guide on how to run the Absinthe untethered jailbreak, click here.

Below are some of the common issues and their fixes, provided by the Cydia Blog.

Error: Absinthe web clip shows Error establishing a database connection.

Fix: During the process of jailbreaking, if the Absinthe web clip shows Error establishing a database connection message, exit to your Springboard and keep trying to launch the Absinthe app.

Alternatively, you can also turn on VPN via the Settings icon on the Springboard. Once you turn VPN on, you will get an error message, but after a while, your device will reboot with Cydia on the Springboard. If Absinthe crashes, reboot your DEVICE and try again.

Error: Absinthe loader might crash while installing Cydia.

Fix: Loader works when greenpois0n.com is back online. Alternatively, try Fix 1.

Error: If Absinthe doesn't launch.

Fix: Hacker @planetbeing has suggested running Absinthe from MAC OS X Terminal. Here are the steps to follow:

- Download Absinthe - updated version.

- Unzip and keep it in a folder on desktop.

- Open Terminal /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app

- cd into the folder that contains Absinthe. Just type cd and drag-n-drop the folder into terminal.

- Type ./Absinthe.app/Contents/MacOS/Absinthe

- Absinthe will load now. Click on Jailbreak button and wait for some time.

- Open the Absinthe app (web clip) added to your homescreen, and wait for the device to reboot.

Now, your device is jailbroken.

Error: Camera roll pictures deleted after jailbreak.

Fix: This error means that the jailbreak is in an incomplete state. To fix this, return to the Absinthe app and then return to it once to complete the jailbreak.

There could be some other possible issues as well.

Error: If the device gets stuck at waiting for reboot.

Fix: Simply reboot your device manually.

Error: If VPN connection shows error.

Fix: This is not unusual. Just wait, a reboot should start a few moments after the error.

Corona injector CLI

To address strange errors, the iPhone has released a command-line version of the jailbreak tool called Corona injector CLI. To download OS X version of the CLI, click here.

For more information on the Corona injector CLI, a corresponding readme document is also available. The document summarizes the options available to debuggers and tinkerers. Users are recommended to follow all advice before proceeding with the iPhone Dev CLI.
