U.S Jobless Claims Add 21 Thousand last Week

The U.S Department of Labor reported the weekly jobless claims for the week ended January 21, showing the number of Americans filing for unemployment insurances gained 21 thousand to 377 thousand last week, from a revised 356 thousand, missing analysts' median estimates of 370 thousand.

Furthermore, continuing claims rose to 3.554 million in the week ended January 14, from a revised 3.466 million and trailing economists' forecasts of 3.500 million as well. The four-week moving average, which excludes heavy fluctuations in the jobless claims, eased to 377.5 thousand last week for 380 thousand.
