Sony has unveiled three new Cyber Shot camera models— the WX50, WX70 and TX200V - all featuring 5x zoom lenses and Exmor RTM CMOS sensors.

Interestingly, the new models appear similar to high-end smartphones, both in terms of looks and price. They boost an ultra-slim body and a glass front-plate on both sides, similar to the iPhone. Moreover, the prices are hardly very different from the high-end mobile phones in today's markets.

Sony earlier announced three other models- the W610, the W620 and the W650 - at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas earlier this month. These three are set go on sale from February, while those announced above (the WX50, WX70, and TX200V) will be made available from March, a PC Magazine report said.

The TX200V is an improved version of the WX50 and WX70, featuring a bigger screen, a resolution of 640x480, non-protruding 5x (26-130mm) zoom lens, an 18 megapixel sensor, 1080i60 movie capture, GPS, optical image stabilization, Carl Zeiss optics, 3.3-inch OLED touchscreen Xtra Fine and a waterproof and dustproof case.

Its primary controls are three buttons - one each for the shutter, the power and the zoom feature and the camera is compatible with memory sticks and a microSD memory card. The product is set to be priced at $499.99.

The two other devices - WX50 and WX70 - are fairly identical to each other, with the exception of some design differences. Both cameras feature a 16 megapixel image sensor, a screen with 640×480 resolution, 25-125mm f/2.6-6.3 (35mm equivalent) Carl Zeiss zoom lens and allow full-HD or 1080p video capture and optical image stabilization. The only real point of difference is the screen size - the WX50 comes with a 2.7 inch screen and the WX70 with a 3-inch screen.

These budget models will be available for $199.99 and $229.99, respectively.
