The Avengers are going to the Super Bowl.

On Tuesday, Marvel unleashed a teaser for the film's new trailer, which will play in full during Sunday's Super Bowl broadcast between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

The Avengers teaser is only 10 seconds long, but the Super Bowl tagged preview has already gained some traction overnight, thanks to the more than 1.1 million views on Marvel's YouTube channel.

New York City in the sunlight, exploding cars, citizens running away from said exploding cars, alien ships and The Avengers themselves (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner) all make the cut.

This is the first time in nearly four months that fans of The Avengers have seen any new footage of the highly-anticipated film directed by Joss Whedon (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame).

In October, Marvel dropped a two-minute showcase of The Avengers, complete with a detailed storyline involving every man for himself.

The trailer also confirmed the return of Tony Stark (Downey's Iron Man), who introduces himself as a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist before poking fun at Bruce Banner.

Dr. Banner, your work is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster, Stark says.

Reaction to the Super Bowl Avengers spot has been positive so far (on Twitter anyway).

I knew something was missing from the First @Avengers Trailer - like the CGI effects! And they said I was crazy, wrote one fan.

The Avengers trailer now has its own...trailer. Awesome. I want to write a story that will be an ad for a book trailer for my next book, joked another.

The Avengers, also starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston and Cobie Smulders, arrives in theaters on May 4.
