National Signing Day 2012: Where Did The Top Recruits Go? [SLIDESHOW]
National Signing Day 2012 was yesterday, and the newest crop of NCAA Football talent are officially committed to their future colleges. It's their first step down the hopeful road to the National Football League. During the recruiting process, which starts long before National Signing Day, top recruits are given tours of school facilities and have meetings with coaches in order to see if the recruit and school are a good match. Dorial Green Beckham
Dorial Green-Beckham, a 6'6", 250 pound wide receiver from Hillcrest High School in Missouri committed to the University of Missouri on National Signing Day. Green-Beckham was the #1 recruit in the country, was called the best wide receiver prospect since Randy Moss by Recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
Johnathan Gray
A runningback from Aledo High School in Texas, Gray committed to Texas University in April of last year. Gray was the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2011, when he had 346 carried for 3,891 and 65 touchdowns.
Noah Spence
The #1 defensive end from Bishop McDevitt HS in Penn., Spence committed to Ohio State. Spence will join the Buckeyes, who went 6-7 in 2011. Spence had 104 tackles and 22 sacks last year. In the ESPN/Under Armour All-American Bowl, Spence had three sacks.
Andrus Peat
The 6'7" 350 pound offensive tackle from Tempe, Arizona committed to Stanford University, where he will join the Cardinals. He ran a 5.2. 40, and is considered a future top NFL talent by some recruiters.
Mario Edwards
The #1 defensive tackle from Denton, Tex., Edwards committed to Florida State. Edwards played his sophomore year as a wide receiver and defensive tackle, but switched to tackle full time in his junior year. In 2011, he had 72 tackles, 32 for losses, and 11 sacks.
