Do Lana Del Rey critics still have time to retract their nasty words and reviews?

On Thursday night, Del Rey gave naysayers something new to talk about -- her nearly pitch-perfect performance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Sporting fake nails, shiny wavy hair and a white dress, the 25-year-old singer delivered Video Games, and even smiled from time to time.

The performance is not a far cry from Del Rey's much-ridiculed Saturday Night Live performance two weeks ago. While the SNL stage is famous for having imperfect acoustics, Del Rey was clearly nervous, considering the gig was her first US television debut. But all hell broke loose anyway, thanks to criticism from viewers, music publications and even Brian Wiliams, who called her performance one of the worst outings in SNL history.

So how did Del Rey fare on the Late Show on Thursday?

Wow, that was beautiful. Great to meet you. So beautiful, Letterman, who is celebrating his 30th year of Late Show this week, said after the performance.

They don't get no better. That was gorgeous, added musical director Paul Schaffer.

The compliments from Del Rey's newest fans didn't stop there.

Can you come back tomorrow night? asked Letterman. How about Monday? Gosh, that was very nice.

Reaction to the performance has also been exploding on Twitter.

Lana Del Rey on Letterman. Redemption song. ALSO Letterman holds vinyl copy, not CD. Hipster crd? NEW AGE, wrote one viewer.

Lana Del Rey sounded beautiful on letterman. Love the stripped down arrangement. Her vocals remind me so much of Fiona Apple!! wrote another.

Del Rey has been quite the talk of the music world this week, as her debut album Born to Die arrived on Monday. The album landed at number one on iTunes in more than 10 countries, including the US, Italy, France and Mexico.

Thank you for making the record #1 . . . your sweet words have softened the effect of even the harshest reviews. I adore you, Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant, wrote to her fans on Tuesday.

Del Rey is scheduled to perform at Amoeba Music on Feb. 7 and Feb. 9 in Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively.
