Do you expect your iPad 3 to be faster than its predecessor? That could be possible.

A quad-core processor A6 will reportedly be packed in Apple's next tablet, according to BGR, citing an unnamed source, who claims to have an iPad 3 prototype.

The source also provided BGR with photos, suggesting the iPad 3's model number is S5L8945X, whereas the A4 model was S5L8930X and the A5 is S5L8940X. If the photos are correct, the new processor will probably be a quad-core model, which will make the next generation iPad much faster.

One of the most striking features in iPad 3 will be its display. MacRomors reported that the new tablet might debut with Retina Display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels.

Moreover, Techunwrapped also made the same suggestion, citing a source, who said, "As I was going through the iOS SDK I came across some images in the new Twitter .framework. The resolution appears to be 1,536 x 2,048."

Besides a quad-core processor, BGR also has revealed the iPad 3 will support LTE network.

The Japanese blog Macotakara has also chimed the same.

Jeremy Horwitz, the editor-in-chief of iLounge, has reported that the camera of iPad 3 will be far better than its predecessors.

More specifically, the camera in the upper left corner might become bigger, "but not so huge that anyone would think they were different at a distance."

According to Horwitz, "the new camera hole is silver-ringed," which is similar with to iPhone 4S's rear camera system without the LED flash.

Siri, the voice-controlled personal assistant, has become the hottest feature of iPhone 4S, making the handset become the best-selling iPhone ever.

No wonder, there's a flood of rumors suggesting that the virtual assistant might also be packed in the iPad 3.

The body of the iPad 3 will be thicker than the current one, according to iLounge.

The thickness has been designed to accommodate the retina display and a larger battery. However, the iPad 3 won't be much thicker - only 1mm thicker. In other words, the difference will be hardly noticeable.

The latest rumor indicates the iPad 3's launch date might be March 29, according to Game Zone, which got the hint from Amazon France's timeline.

The online retail giant doesn't sell iPads, but it has added two iPad 3 books to its online catalog - iPad 3 pour les nuls (or iPad 3 for Dummies) and Auf die Schnelle iPad 3.

iPad 3 for Dummies will be published on March 29, 2012, according to Amazon France's listing. It means the new iPad may also be launched on the same date or around that time.
