Daniel Radcliffe Opens Up About Acting Under The Influence of Booze [SLIDESHOW]
Just like most actors who started out in the business as a kid, Daniel Radcliffe went through the usual ups and many downs of early stardom. That cute little British kid who played the well loved book character of Harry Potter revealed that he once became an alcoholic, to the point that he needed professional help.
With the extent of his responsibility to become a role model to many child and tween fans out there, there were a lot of times the actor cannot deny the difficult times that came with the benefits of popularity.
Sober and mature, Radcliffe admits at 22 that he once struggled against alcoholism during his teenage years and even came to a point of acting under some great amount of booze. He shared once with Heat Magazine that he has a very addictive nature. He mentioned that it became so bad, he cannot even get himself to go into details. But for description's sake, he was drinking every night.
He also confessed that he can point to a lot of scenes in the Harry Potter films that he can remember he knew his lines well but he was just a dead guy in reality.
In another magazine, GQ UK, he also revealed that he relied on alcohol back then just to be able to enjoy things. As proof of these, he was often capture by paparazzis partying hard which many only deemed as normal for any child star.
But unlike the rest of those who failed or still struggling as rebellious grown up stars now, Radcliffe wants to pursue his craft as an adult actor this time and prove he will not fall into the usual traps of vices seemingly meant for child superstars .
