Bronx residents gathered Monday to protest the killing of 18-year-old Ramarley Graham, shouting chants comparing the NYPD to the Ku Klux Klan.

After holding a candlelight vigil for the teenager, who was shot and killled Thursday, protesters led by the boy's parents gathered outside of a Bronx precinct stationhouse.

Graham, who was unarmed, was shot in the chest Thursday after police chased him into his apartment. Police thought he had been concealing a gun and chased after Graham who ran after police called out to him.

Initial reports, claimed that there had been a struggle between Graham and the police officer. However, Police Commisioner Ray Kelly expressed concern over the incident, hinting at the possibility that there may not have been a struggle after all.

At this juncture, we see an unarmed person being shot. That always concerns us, Kelly said at a press conference.

The incident is fuel for civil rights leaders, who have long considered the NYPD of practicing racial discrimination.
