Pushkarnath Kher, father of prolific actor Anupam Kher, passed away in Mumbai Friday after a brief illness. He was 84.
Kher was on his way to Goa to attend the wedding of David Dhawan's son Rohit Dhawan when he got the sad news.

He revealed the news via Twitter, saying, "As I landed in Goa my brother Raju called from Mumbai that the "Best Dad in the World" ( our father ) is No More. Traveling back."
As the news spread across the industry, condolence messages and prayers started pouring in.
Amitabh Bachchan, who is all set to undergo an operation at SevenHills hospital Saturday, posted on Twitter, "And just now more distressing news on the passing away of Anupam Kher's Father .. sad and so tragic when you lose near and dear .."
