Whitney Houston, the legendary singer whose known for her famous vocal, drug use and troubled marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died at the age of 48, her publicist Kristen Foster confirmed with The Associated Press on Saturday. The cause of Whitney Houston's death is unknown at this time, but reports are that her body was found by singer Ray J at at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen told People.com that he can "confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel."
He said authorities got a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later.
"It's unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel," he said. "We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail."
With the cause of her death still unclear at the moment, fans on Twitter have blamed her ex-husband Bobby brown for the singer's death.

"One thing I will say, is that there is anybody to fault for her death, it would be Bobby Brown. that's all I have to say," Twitter user B. Williams posted after learning of the singer's death.
"Will always love Whitney. Will always loathe Bobby Brown," another user stacy-marie ishmael wrote.
But not every fan of Whitney Houston is quick to blame the singer's ex-husband.
"Bobby Brown cant take all da blame. She had her own nostrils and her own lungs and her own lips and legs.. and brain," Twitter user Leon Scratcha Smart @ScratchaDVA wrote.
Before her death was announced on Saturday, Whitney Houston was seen leaving night club Tru Hollywood this week, with her daughter Bobbi Kristina. The Sun reported that she looked "worse for wear." The singer also looked like blood was dripping down her leg and had a long scratch on her wrist, according to The Sun.
Whitney Houston was born on Aug. 9, 1963 in Newark, N.J. to singer Cissy Houston. She was discovered about 20 years later by famous producer Clive Davis, reportedly in a New York nightclub. At the peak of her career in the 1980s to the late 1990s, Whitney Houston became a best-selling artist worldwide. she sold more than 50 million records sold in the U.S. alone.
She first sang in church before making it big. Whitney Houston also sang backup for Chaka Khan and Jermaine Jackson to name a few. Her debut album "Whitney Houston," came in 1985 and had many hits. Her song "Saving All My Love for You"brought Whitney Houston her her first Grammy for best female pop vocal.
Pretty soon, Whitney Houston made a successful transition onto the big screen where she starred in movies such as "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale."
At her lowest, Whitney Houston was seen under the battling drugs, which has taken a toll on her vocals and poor album sales. The has admitted to the media that she used marijuana, pills and cocaine. She had confessed to Oprah Winfrey in 2010, that at one point in her life, doing drugs was as an everyday thing.
