Whitney Houston, the beloved pop icon, died yesterday afternoon at the age of 48. Members of her entourage found her body at the Beverly Hilton Hotel unconscious and in a bathtub.

Beverly Hilton hotel employees have told TMZ that Houston had "partied heavily" with a group of friends at the hotel the night before her death.

The report states that Houston and friends were at the hotel bar for a period of time and that the group was drinking and being very loud. The source tells TMZ that although the hotel was especially busy because of the upcoming Grammy Awards, Houston and her group stood out because they were so boisterous.

The cause of Houston's death is still unknown.

Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards and 22 American Music Awards during her career, cementing her as the most-awarded female pop singer of all time according to the Guiness Book of World Records.
