Staff at an aquarium in Shanghai staged a wedding ceremony for a penguin couple for Valentine's Day.
The two Humboldt penguins were chosen to marry by staff at Shanghai Ocean Aquarium because the creatures are notoriously monogamous.
The couple, named Xiaobai and Xiaoxue, were taken from their enclosure to the wedding ceremony in a miniature remote-controlled sports car.
Garlands of flowers were put around their necks - but no rings on their flippers - to seal the nuptials.
One penguin-keeper said: "They are one of the few in the animal kingdom that are monogamous. So we hope that through this event, everyone will feel love is in the air."

In contrast to most weddings, however, the penguins have been getting married twice a day over the fortnight leading up to Valentine's Day.
