Oscar De La Renta's Sparkly Display at the 2012 New York Fashion Week (PHOTOS)

High-fashion designer Oscar De La Renta, known for his pricey gowns, has displayed a jewellery inspired Fall/Winter 2012 collection show during New York Fashion Week on Feb 14, 2012.

The models were adorned in designs of colourful silk prints, embellished cardigans and coats with jewelled headbands and pearl pendants. The display also involved crystal tiara wearing models with bejewelled box clutches.

A report in the New York Post said that the look was youthful and prim, and while his Upper East Side clientele will gravitate toward those embroidered tweed skirt suits, more than a few downtown socials will fall hard for that icy blue mini-pouf dress covered in crystals and feathers, complete with matching headband.

The rich luxury collection by the designer also included cashmere sweaters, lace appliqués on a chiffon blouse and a finale tulle ball gown in macaroon-like hues.

Apart from other creations, De La Renta is known for his bridal wear and ball gown designs. His creations have been worn by many celebrities including Gloria Guinness, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Anne Hathaway and Megan Fox.
